Holy shit. I finally did it. I found Finnish visual kei.

Here's a band called Jenlayn. These guys kind of suck? But they have that koteosa spirit and vibe. They call themselves visual kei. They're 100% a Finnish visual rock band.

Goofy as Hell, but like, not the worst.

If this is going to be what kicks me back into learning Finnish I am going to be EXTREMELY angry....

Having my music on shuffle is so damn funny. What do you MEAN it plays the grittiest noise track by Blam Honey right after it plays a FLOPPY song. It's horrid! In the best way! It's so horrid!

I went to Supanova today! Awesome convention...

I saw so many cute and cool cosplayers. I got a photo with an adorable Misa cosplayer... I didn't ask if I could post it though, and I want to respect her privacy, so I won't be posting it.

I got a pair of ears and a tail! If I walk right, the tail swings behind me and it looks super cute... I'm super happy! I also got two new chokers and a bunch of pins.

I bought a tote bag with Sylveon on it, and it came with a Flareon keychain! It's adorableeee... I'm definitely gonna be using it. I also managed to grab a cute notepad!

Most excitingly though - I found a hide figure in a stall! You never see Jrock merch anywhere, even at these sorts of conventions. I'm really happy with that. He's super duper cute! I'll put a photo here sometime in the future when I'm able to. I love him so much... but that's kind of obvious.

Well, it's official. I'm moving out.

It's scary - especially considering that I'm still in school. But I'm moving out of home in the next few weeks.

Been listening to a lot of GPKISM lately! Gothique Prince Ken really got two great guys with him - Ryonai of Blam Honey and Selia. I've noticed that the three of them, along with DJ SiSeN, form a certain "circle" in that late 2000's Japanese gothic electro kei however you call it scene. Perhaps one of the more interesting parts of that though - GPK is actually Australian! So what gives? ;-)

Also, I unprivated my Twitter account temporarily and a fursuiter I really admire followed me back. I'm still reeling...! I don't even post anything particularly interesting on my account.

I don't really like social media, but my Twitter is the one proper social I allow myself to have anymore (other than a fediverse account I come back to every few months). The general website is getting worse by the day, but I prefer to stick to the side where I can fill my timeline with photos of bandmen and photos of cute fursuits - it's Heaven compared to the awful places on Twitter I used to be in.

I also went on another Pinoruck listening spree. Which means, "listen to all the stuff I could find uploads of and then get mad I can't find any MP3s or any CDs for sale". I did find exactly one proper recording in some pikopiko/rock/new wave compilation thing on Niconico , I'll put it on YouTube later. ;-P

I got really super duper sick, blehhh! :-( still recovering. It really messed me up for a while.

Having a site is really fun, but having nothing to really put on it is... not fun. I have been doing art and I have been doing translations/collecting lyrics/etc, but... the art is either incomplete or generally not very sitely, my translations need work, and I need to put everything into various files and actually get them up on my site.

I'm getting there! I just need a bit of time.

My dad and aunt sent me a package! They live two states away and I never get to see them so I'm really happy.

My aunt gave me shoes and a blanket - I think she made the blanket herself. The stitching looks hand done. She's good at things like that!

My dad, on the other hand, sent me that Binary Kidd CD I wanted - "Kaasan, Nande Uchi ni wa Famicom nai no?" It's super fun! Big fan of Binary Kidd's style. I wanna get my hands on their other stuff someday, however hard that is to do.

I honestly have not been too good lately. That's the main reason for my, er. lack of site updates and lack of getting back to people (in an acceptable amount of time). Sorry about all of that. :-(

Among a lot of other much worse things, somehow one of the things I'm really sad about is just that my CD player broke. Blehhhh!!! I can't listen to Blam Honey on the go anymore!

Sudden spikes in mental un-wellness are. Well, not good, really. But oh well, nothing I can do but march on!

In other news: two new hide plushies arrived, and I also got two new Souiumono CDs in the same package! So so fun. :-)

The plushies looked like they were covered in soot when I recieved them! I gave them a proper bath in the sink and hung them up to dry, and now they're as good as new. Minus, um, the matted hair in places and the fabric damage. I obviously got them quite low-price. What can I say, I'm a cheapskate! Their quality doesn't miff me - as long as I have more hide merch. Can't get enough of the dude.

The Visual Kei Tarot cards and artbook as well as Blam Honey's Grandoise Delusion CD also arrived recently. I'm super duper happy with those. Blam Honey is so amazing and I also like to ogle pretty boys, so obviously I ended up liking that... lol.

Oh, also, because I felt a bit silly. "Currently listening" is now gonna be a part of future blog posts.

It's my birthday! I'm officially 296 years old. Vampire life is hard. Ha ha, joking there of course. Or not. Whether or not I'm actually a vampire is for me to know and you to find out... ;-)

My dad said he's ordering me the CD for "Kaasan, nande uchi ni wa Famicom nai no?" ("Mom, why don't we have an NES?") by Binary Kidd for my birthday. I'm really happy with that - Binary Kidd is really fun from the small amount I've heard by them, I can't wait to listen to the songs on the CD!

Speaking of CDs, I ordered two new ones recently: GAME OVER by Souiumono and Kubi wa Neru Tsurugi Type C, also by Souiumono. GAME OVER is their second and last album, yay!

"But Sig," I hear you say, "don't you already have Kubi wa Neru Tsurugi?"

...Well, yeah. But I have Type A, which comes with the second Souiumono RPG game! This is Type C, which comes with a third song. I only bought it because I'm really interested in seeing and translating the lyrics - the song's title is basically "Public Self-Abuse Channel", which sure interests me.

On that same note, I recently arranged for the Visual Kei Tarot card set and artbook, as well as my Blam Honey CD, to be shipped out to me! I'm so excited.

Anyways, away from my online orders for now. I want to go op shopping (thrifting? That's what Americans call it, right?) this afternoon/evening. I love finding good things at the op shop whether they're CDs or books or clothes. If I do go, I'll update later if I find anything cool! :-) Even if it's just, classical music or something. If there's a haul at all, I'll report back!

It's over everyone. Floppy is too good. So good, in fact, that a Floppy song broke my headphones!!! I'm glad I have three spares. But I really liked that original pair...

I found a new Pinokiwo song I've never heard in my life. I can't find any record of it either. So my question is: where the fuck did the original poster on that YouTube compilation get this?? I'm actually shocked.

It's hilariously militaristic. It's called Hasegawa Missile and the entire concept is, "Come to our missile store! We'll sell you anything!"

I can't be mad that I found it. I'm delighted! I translated the lyrics just for fun. It was a quick job seeing as the song is like 45 seconds long.

I know, this is an utterly stupid song. That's what's so fun about it though. It's an absolutely idiotic song about war and weaponry that pokes fun at the entire concept. I love it!

Finding new music is always fun. I hope to find even more obscure tracks in the future :-)

Lately, I've been in love with pikopiko bands. I need to look for more of them! I haven't been able to stop listening.

I'm really loving Shinjuku Gewalt, Pinokiwo, Sandwich de 120pun?, and Floppy. Especially Floppy! There are some songs by them where you can really obviously hear them using the 2A03 sound chip, which is the chip used to make all the music on the NES/Famicom.

Now I'm a nerd for this entire spiel, but goodness I love music made with the 2A03, and even if Floppy edits it etc. in modern DAWs and such, it's really impressive that they make use of the 2A03 at all. They get really creative with it :-)

But back to the topic. I'm looking for more pikopiko bands to listen to! If anybody has recommendations, feel free to give me a shout and I'll tell you what I think :-) you know my E-Mail! And if you don't, it's right on my "About the Webmaster" page.
